Shoko was actually the person who gave me the courage to start a blog. I found her through her blog, Sho & Tell, a brilliant curation of things from around the web interspersed with her poignant, insightful Looking Forward columns. After being duly impressed by her online persona, I emailed her and asked if we could meet up and talk writing (ah, the benefits of being NYC based). Following our first, pie-filled introduction, I remember walking out into the Brooklyn sunshine and simply tingling with inspriration. You get the feeling she has that effect on a lot of people.
